MISSION & PURPOSE :

The Mission of the Punarutthana Trust is to promote academic excellence and transformation of the Practising School Kumta by undertaking initiatives for infrastructure development, quality of education and enrichment of the lives of its students, alumni and community to grow & thrive.

It shall be The Purpose of the Punarutthana Trust to:

Promote the interests of Practising School Kumta to achieve and sustain world standard of academic excellence;
Support the school community through the financial resources, knowledge, skills, thought leadership and loyalty of its Alumni, Friends and Patrons;
Develop programs that foster fellowship, spirit of unity and loyalty among alumni and encourage the physical, moral & spiritual growth of the community;
Assist the school community in the growth of its academic, administrative, cultural, and extracurricular activities.
To encourage the philanthropic and volunteer support to serve the community, to Make a Difference and bring Purpose To Life.

PUNARUTTHANA MEANING :

The Sanskrit word Punarutthāna (पुनरुत्थान, ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನ) is often simply translated as "rising again" or "resurgence of an attitude or activity". Its usage denotes rising from the deteriorated condition to a supreme condition; to regain one’s due position, glory, lost value, importance, etc. So simplistic representation of the name of our trust fits perfectly in the context of mission of our trust i.e. restoring the glory of the Practising School Kumta to a model school. However, the etymology and traditional usage of the word Punarutthana reveal the deeper, spiritual reverence behind the phrase.

At Punarutthana trust we are inspired Swami Vivekananda’s vision of Building Resurgent India with youth-led development, self -belief and selflessness. Guiding principles and actions our trust will be shaped by his consistent invocation to the youth of the country, to proudly go back to our cultural roots and to utilise its values to serve common people considering them as manifestation of God i.e. to make life's purpose fulfilling with the belief Service to Humanity is Indeed Service to Divinity.

The design and colours chosen in the logo have significance of its own representing attributes & guiding principles of our trust.

Brightly coloured human family emblem with Circular silhouette of the sky symbolises excellence, enrichment and all-round development of students, alumni and community reaching out to the horizon with boundless joy .

The hand signifies nurturing and supporting role the trust, the alumni, friends and patrons

Orange symbolises - Rich Heritage, Creativity, Youth & Enthusiasm
Blue symbolises - Professionalism, Trust & Reliability.
Aqua symbolises – Tranquillity, Revitalisation & Wisdom.
Pink symbolises – Nurturing, Cheerfulness & Compassion.
White symbolises - Purity, Transparency & Simplicity.

WHAT WE DO :

Punarutthana Trust® is an independent, non-profit organization aspiring to be a dynamic, self-driven, and sustainable network to bring together alumni, friends and Patrons of Practising school Kumta.

Practicing School Kumta, established as an associate school of District Education Training Institute on 31-07-1947 has been known for its quality of education for the past 75 years. Thousands of students have built their lives by studying in this school. In September 2022 after witnessing the sorry state of the Practising school, small group of alumni’s and well-wishers of the school community have taken up few initiatives to make a difference to the learning experience of current students and teachers to best of abilities.

However, these initiatives are just stepping-stone to make students competitive and good citizens of the future by imparting quality education and restore glory of the school to a model school which has served the society over the past last 75 years. To realise this ambition Punarutthana Trust has been established as registered Trust on 29 December 2022.

The primary objective of the trust is to promote academic excellence and transformation of the school by undertaking initiatives for infrastructure development, quality of education and enrichment of the lives and opportunities of its students, alumni and community.

Punarutthana Trust leverages the resources, talents, and initiatives of alumni friends to advise, guide, advocate for and support the association in serving the community and achieving its goals.

Punarutthana Trust provides and supports alumni programs and services, facilitates communication with alumni, and seeks to strengthen alumni bonds of fellowship to stay connected and serve as advocates of the school and local community globally.
